At unique locations in the centre of Breda and just outside, you can admire the work of many photographers during BredaPhoto festival. Some locations are freely accessible, while for others you will need a ticket. 1. Carré Chassé

Carré Chassé is the festival hub of BredaPhoto 2026. Here you will find the work of sixteen artists in one location, the BredaPhoto information point, the BredaPhoto shop and bookshop, and you can enjoy coffee and some treats. 

At Carré Chassé you will find work by, among others,

Note: The horeca, bookshop, and BredaPhoto shop in Carré Chassé are freely accessible; to visit the exhibitions, you will need a ticket.

2. Koepel District

The Koepel District is a new location for BredaPhoto. The former women's prison and the estate are historic sites. You will find works by:

  • Ties van de Water 

  • Yuki Kihara Postcards from Khartoum

For the exhibitions in the Dome District, you will need a ticket .

3. XXL Plein and Chassé Park

The XXL exhibition at the Chassé Promenade and Chassé Park is back. A special location where you can admire large-scale photography in public space on the square.

4. Clublokaal

At the invitation of BredaPhoto, FOTODOK is bringing the group exhibition A Spell Bundle – Manifesting Queer Futurity to the festival. 

The exhibition is curated by Daria Tuminas and features work by:

  • Ebun Sodipo 
  • Julius Thissen 
  • Nayara Leite 
  • S*an D. Henry-Smith

5. Galerie Ecker

At Galerie Ecker, you can view works by the Brazilian photographer Aline Motta. In ‘Filha natural (Natural Daughter)’, she explores her great-great-grandmother Francisca. She lived as a woman enslaved in Brazil.

Aline Motta used archival material, photography, and film to bring forgotten stories of the enslaved back to life. 

For this location, you will need a BredaPhoto ticket.

6. StadsGalerij

The StadsGalerij is the former Building F of the former Chassé Barracks. 
During BredaPhoto, you'll find an exhibition featuring works by Anneleen Louwers in the StadsGalerij.

7. Project Space Chassé Theatre

Memories of Love Returned is a project that photographer/filmmaker Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine from Uganda has worked on for 22 years.
Through photographs and film, he introduces the viewer to photographer Kibaate Aloysius Ssalongo and the role he has played for his community.

The information below is from the previous edition and will be updated as soon as possible.
On this map, you will find the BredaPhoto route connecting all BredaPhoto locations with cool hotspots, making your visit to the festival a full day or weekend experience. Each hotspot has a specially curated arrangement for BredaPhoto, so it's definitely worth a look. The route can be obtained in various ways.
