In ‘Filha Natural (Natural Daughter)’ Aline Motta explores her great-great-grandmother Francisca, who lived as a enslaved woman in Brazil.

Many stories of enslaved people have been lost due to the violence of slavery. Many Afro-Brazilian descendants are still searching for their roots. Using archival material, photography, and film, Aline Motta brings forgotten stories to life and shows how generations remain connected to each other.
