From mid-December until mid-January the city centre of Breda provides a fairy-tale setting for a cosy stroll. It's quite early for it to be dark, so plenty of time for an evening winter walk along the festive lights, winter terraces, and the ice skating rink at Grote Markt (12 December to 4 January).

Light route through Breda

A cycling route that brings the thirsty rider to the aroma of hops, yeast and malt from La Trappe Trappist brewery at Abdij De Koningshoeven. A former retreat of William II in Berkel-Enschot. After a trip from Breda through the Brabant countryside, a small La Trappe tasting is a delightful stopover.

The municipality of Breda has, together with the Stichting Bavel Beweegt | 'De 5 van Bavel', set out a running route in Bavel that is easy to follow thanks to a special marking in the pavement. At the start of the running route, there is an information board with a QR code linked to Strava. This way, you can share your time with other runners.

A pleasant walk of nearly 7 km across the beautiful Wolfslaar estate and through the Mark Valley. Keep in mind that your shoes may not come through entirely dry and clean at the finish line.
