Discover traces of our Dutch slavery history in Breda
From 18 April to 28 June ’26, the tapestry *Sporen van slavernijverleden Noord-Brabant* will be on display in the Grote Kerk Breda. The artwork travels through the province and tells stories about the history of slavery in North Brabant. Artist Victor Sonna (1977, Cameroon) designed the piece, and hundreds of volunteers from all over North Brabant created the tapestry in 2025.
Now that the artwork is on display in the Grote Kerk Breda, several locations in the city are highlighting traces of the history of slavery. This allows you to discover how closely this history is connected to Breda and North Brabant.
