This summer, discover all those surprising shops, welcoming hospitality venues, and cultural spots. In the historic city centre, the industrial Havenkwartier, and (on your way to) the Ginneken neighbourhood. Check them off your list right away or add them to your bucket list for next time.
Anyone who enjoys exploring the city with a guide can sign up again this summer for the city walks and tower climbs by Gilde de Baronie or the walks of Ontdek Breda.

There is plenty to discover at the Stedelijk Museum Breda this summer! Besides the permanent exhibitions De Nassaus of Breda and Ambition & Desire, there will be three temporary exhibitions in 2026.
For the exhibition We OK!, artist David Bade collaborated with young people from three districts of Breda. During the summer holiday, you can join a guided tour.
The photography exhibition MonRepos offers a unique insight into the life of the prominent Klep family in the early 20th century.

Breda is buzzing this summer with festivals! Whether you love swinging jazz, electronic beats, or lively neighborhood parties, there's something for everyone.
On July 4th is Ploegendienst. This year in the industrial setting of Backer and Rueb, a dream location for this festival with house and techno vibes.
This year, unfortunately, no Brand Parkies in Valkenbergpark. Hopefully, we will see this travelling summer festival back in 2027.
Also, Duikboot can definitely not be missing from the festival list! On August 29th, it will return to de Asterdplas with various music areas and a creative programme.
And that's not all! There are many more parties you really don't want to miss, such as Breda Live, TrailerFest, the Havenfeesten, and of course, Breda Barst. Make sure to be there and enjoy everything this vibrant city has to offer!

There are theatres that close their doors at the end of June to reopen in September. The Chassé Theatre does things differently. It is summer, so the Chassé goes outside.
Take Sunset Cinema, for example, which screens films in unexpected locations around the city, or Cine Cocina, where a cosy Spanish dinner is paired with wonderful Spanish films.
The Klapstoelcabaret puts on cabaret shows in unique venues.
At the terrace of Vensters, the hotspot of hospitality at the Chassé Theatre, you can enjoy a mix of global sounds, snacks, and drinks during Ope Vensters on Saturday evenings. And indoors, both theatre and cinema offer a summer programme.
The Blind Walls Gallery is our outdoor museum. More than 140 (!) murals across Breda tell the stories of the city. The murals have been created by artists from all over the world. You can discover the Blind Walls Gallery on your own by bike or on foot, but you can also go on a guided tour.
What could be more summery than a nice film under the stars with a good glass within reach? Filmhuis Botanique Breda is organizing eleven outdoor film evenings on the terrace of Botanique with screenings of iconic films, in collaboration with BuitenBios.
BuitenBios runs from Saturday 2 August to Saturday 13 September.
Breda is a wonderful shopping city par excellence. Of course, you will find the usual retail chains here, but there are also notably many specialty stores and small (start-up) shops. These give the city extra atmosphere for a lovely shopping experience.
