There is again plenty to discover at the Breda Museum of Contemporary Art this summer! In addition to the permanent exhibitions, there are no fewer than four temporary exhibitions.
Be surprised by the STRAAT KUNST MUSEUM of the Blind Walls Gallery. Thirteen talented street artists – including Rob van Dijck, ESPO, Handiedan and Pink Painter – transform the walls into colourful murals that bring the rich, sometimes raw stories of the Boschstraat to life.
TIP: on Thursday mornings during the summer holidays, you can take part in a MINIMUUR workshop.
Step into Space Mission and let yourself be carried away to the cosmos and colourful art instead of dark black holes. Three artists explore ‘the space of the possible’.
Discover how interior trends in the 18th century were used to display identity and status, and admire colourful Chinese wallpaper full of cultural symbolism.
In the permanent exhibition The Nassaus of Breda, you can discover the mini-exhibition 400 years of the Surrender of Breda, which focuses on the siege and the key transfer to the Spaniards in 1625.

On 5 and 6 July, Ploegendienst returns at the Galderse Meren with house and techno vibes. And you can now get your Sunday tickets from as little as €11.11, don’t miss out!
Starting 15 July, you can enjoy Brand Parkies in Valkenbergpark every Tuesday evening. A perfect way to spend a summer evening with live music and DJ sets.

We do everything we can to make your visit to Breda as enjoyable as possible. But unfortunately, we can't influence the weather. So if the weather isn't on our side, remember that rain is really good for the garden and check out our tips for outings in bad weather.
There are theatres that close their doors at the end of June to reopen in September. The Chassé Theatre does it differently. It's summer, so the Chassé goes outside. With Sunset Cinema, for example, film screenings in surprising locations around the city. Or the Clapboard Cabaret with three nights of cabaret in a special venue.
At the terrace of Vensters, the horeca hotspot of the Chassé Theatre, you can enjoy a mixture of world music, snacks and drinks during Ope Vensters on Saturday evenings. And indoors, theatre and cinema also offer a summer programme.
The Blind Walls Gallery is our street museum. More than 130 (!) murals across Breda tell the stories of the city. The murals have been created by artists from all over the world. You can explore the Blind Walls Gallery on your own by bike or on foot, but you can also join a guided tour.
What could be more summery than a lovely film under the stars with a good glass within reach? Filmhuis Breda is organising eleven film evenings on the terrace of Botanique with screenings of iconic films.
