Where can I find the schedule of the Breda Jazz Festival?

The program is available online on the Breda Jazz Festival website . The festival brochure and the program flyer can be picked up at the info point on the Grote Markt and at the Explore Breda Store at the Stadserf.

Are the shops open during the Breda Jazz Festival?

The shops in the Breda city centre are open every day during the Jazz Festival. Please especially expect crowded conditions on Thursday and Saturday. Opening hours: Thursday 29 May (Ascension Day): most shops in the city centre are open from 12:00 to 17:00. Friday 30 May: 9:30/10:00 - 18:00 Saturday 31 May: 9:30/10:00 - 18:00 Sunday 1 June: most shops in the city centre are open from 12:00 to 17:00.

Where can I park my bicycle during the Breda Jazz Festival?

Breda has a number of free bicycle parking facilities with supervision and additional stalls during large events. As soon as the information about these is available, you can find it on our page about bicycle parking in Breda .

Where can I find the first aid at the Breda Jazz Festival?

At the Castle Square, you will find a permanent first aid post. In the city centre, there are also first aiders walking around whom you can approach if you need help. Are you unable to walk to the Castle Square? Then go to the nearest stage. There, festival staff are always present and can ask you if you need assistance. You can recognise them by their badge and/or crew T-shirt.

Is the Breda Jazz Festival accessible for people with disabilities?

The open-air concerts are easily accessible for people with disabilities. However, it can naturally be quite busy, and not every surface in the city centre is equally suitable for wheelchair users. When attending indoor concerts, just give a signal to the attending volunteer. He/she can ensure that you can enjoy the concert from the front row.

Breda Jazz Festival

The Breda Jazz Festival is one of the biggest events in Breda, attracting around a quarter of a million visitors each year. On this page, we share practical information that is helpful if you are planning to visit the festival.

Accessibility and bike parking

Due to the crowds, the most convenient way to get to the city centre of Breda is by public transport or bike. From the station, it’s a ten-minute walk to the heart of the city centre. Enjoy live music from street bands along the route to get into the mood immediately.

In Breda, you can park your bike safely and free of charge in the municipal bicycle parking facilities. During the Breda Jazz Festival, there are also additional bicycle parking areas.

Oude Vest, on the grass strips.

There is supervision from 29 May to 1 June, both day and evening. Staff will assist in ensuring the parking of bicycles runs smoothly.

From Monday 2 June, the extra parking areas will be cleared again. Take your bike away in time so the municipality does not remove it.

Make sure your bike is parked properly!

To prevent cluttering of the city centre, Breda council regularly removes incorrectly parked bicycles. `So always park in one of the (temporary) parking spaces or properly at so-called staples!

Bicycles that are parked dangerously, incorrectly or for too long, as well as bicycle wrecks, are taken to the municipal bicycle depot. Have you lost your bicycle? Then check the website of the municipality of Breda for information about the bicycle depot.

Accessibility

Glass and can ban

During several major events, such as the Breda Jazz Festival, it is prohibited to carry glass and cans in the city centre. Closed containers are also not allowed.
The ban applies from Thursday 29th May to Sunday 1st June daily from 12:00 p.m. and lasts until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

In horeca establishments where guests are seated at tables, drinks can be served in glass.
