Lievense Live: Mount Turmoil

Mount represents the serene power of a mountain. Turmoil is precisely the opposite: noise, turbulence, and commotion. This contrast is also audible in the music of Mount Turmoil, which ranges from intimate Americana to thick, heavy grunge rock. 

Vocalist Arjen Koekoek grew up with an American mother. Guitarist Tom Kenter spent extended periods in London and San Francisco. Bassist Lazaros Valavanis was raised in Greece, and drummer Eric Louisville has Surinamese roots. Expect a broad spectrum of influences, from catchy Britpop to muddy Southern rock and everything in between. 

Members of Mount Turmoil have previously performed at Zwarte Cross, been featured on Radio 2, and appeared on Radio 3 with Giel Beelen. The new EP “That’s Why” — mastered by none other than Nick Zammuto (US) of Zammuto/The Books — is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other streaming platforms.
