Geocaching is a fun and active way to explore Breda and the surrounding area from a different perspective. Whether you're out with children or just craving a bit of adventure: there are plenty of caches in and around the city that are truly worth the hunt!

What is geocaching?

Geocaching is a modern form of treasure hunting. Using a GPS or the Geocaching app, you go on a journey to find hidden ‘caches’: small boxes, tubes, or cleverly concealed spots in the city, forest, or along a walking trail. Most often, you will find a logbook or a small trading item inside. Additionally, there are also virtual caches, where you do not find a container but instead answer a question or take a photo on the spot to log your visit.

How does geocaching work?

Via the app, select a geocache and follow the coordinates to the right spot. That’s where the real search begins: sometimes you spot a cache immediately, sometimes you have to look a little harder. Once you've found it, write your name in the logbook and optionally leave a small item for the next finder.
