In 1996, the football club opened this new stadium. It was then still called the 'Fujifilm Stadium'. In 2006, the stadium was given a new name in honour of club icon Antoon (Rat) Verlegh (1896-1960). Rat Verlegh was affiliated with NAC as a player, coach, director, and honorary chairman.
The stadium has been expanded several times, and since the last renovation (2024-2025), it has a capacity of 20,500 spectators.
During the last renovation (2024-2025), the pitch was lowered and adapted for large-scale events.
Much work has also been done to make the stadium more sustainable. Through an innovative system, the grass can also be watered from below, and the stadium has its own energy storage.

The NAC evenings are iconic, but the Rat Verlegh Stadium offers more. It is an ideal venue for organising meetings, conferences, weddings, fairs, and events. It has various rooms available for rent, accommodating up to 2000 people. Some rooms have a view of the pitch.
The rental of these rooms is coordinated by NHG Horeca.
