Chasing the sun in Breda - terraces in the sun

With warm weather, you have two choices – either you sit comfortably in the shade or, with a load of suncream of course, opt for a lovely sunny terrace. For example, if you're going for a coffee in the morning, or right at lunch time in the afternoon, and... during that drinks session after 5:00 pm. Wonderful to have the sun on your face. We chased the sun in Breda. Which terraces catch the sun in the morning? And in the afternoon, or perhaps where do you still catch that lovely evening sun?

The morning sun 10:00 – 12:00 hours

The morning sun is lovely to sit in. Not too warm, not too cold. The UV is still relatively low, so this is definitely the moment to soak up some sun. In Breda, there are plenty of spots where you can enjoy sitting in the sunshine. Think of Oranje Zuid, where you can relax at Anne & Max, Chatwick, or Emily’s Healthy Bar. Also, Clique, Teds Breda Botanique, or Kamu in de Boschstraat are lovely places.

Afternoon 12:00 – 17:00 hours

In the afternoon, there is also plenty to choose from. The city is often a bit warmer in the summer, but if you're sitting quietly on a terrace, it's really manageable. A drink here, a sandwich there, and just people watching!  
Actually, you're always good at the Grote Markt. In the morning, the entire west side basks beautifully in the sun, slowly but surely turning towards the east side. To prevent overexposure, there are also many umbrellas.

On the Kasteelplein, you can also enjoy the sunshine at Tapasbar Plan B. As well as on the Veemarktpleintje. Latour, Anne & Max, and Veemarktplein are great hotspots in Breda. 
End of the morning and the start of the afternoon, Bardot at Van Coothplein has a lovely sunny terrace. 

Also at the Havermarkt and the Haven, nicely by the water in Breda, you’ll find a good sunny spot in the afternoon hours. Dok19 offers delicious, refreshing beers on the menu, and at Markt28, you can brunch all day long.

An evening without a drink is almost an evening not lived in Breda. When on a warm day it cools down a bit in the evening, it's lovely to go into town just a little. At Baai, you can still enjoy a sunny spot here and there, but you can also seek the shade. And the eastern side of the Grote Markt remains well in the sun. However, it will disappear behind the other buildings in the city after a while.  

At the  Van Coothplein and Pier15, the sun cannot be seen in the evening. Sitting comfortably on one of the various terraces at Van Coothplein, you can enjoy the atmosphere and relax. Definitely worth a look! (And maybe after dinner, enjoy a tasty ice cream in the sun at Frezzo)
