Practical info King's Day 2026
Come by bike or public transport!
The expectation is that it will be pleasantly busy during King's Day. Especially since several streets in the city centre are closed due to construction work, the municipality of Breda advises to come on foot, by public transport, or by bike as much as possible.
Here you park your bike during King's Night and King's Day
Outside the regular, supervised bicycle parking facilities, there are additional pop-up bicycle parking areas with mobile supervision.

Opening hours of regular supervised parking facilities:
- Oranje Zuid: Sun 26 9.00 – 0.00 and Mon 27 April: 07.00–00.00
- Haven/Kraanstraat: Sun 26 11.00 – 3.00 and Mon 27 April: 8.00 – 1.00
- Nieuwstraat: Sun 26 9.00 – 3.00 and Mon 27 April: 7.00 – 1.00
- Oude Vest: Sun 26 9.00 – 3.00 and Mon 27 April: 7.00 – 1.00
- Het Turfschip: Fri 25 and Sat 26 April: 07.00–01.00 hours
To prevent the city centre from becoming clogged with parked bicycles, the municipality strictly enforces regulations on bicycles that are not parked correctly. Please take this into account!
Extra night buses during King's Night and King's Day
Arriva is deploying extra buses so that you can also take the bus to Breda and back home on Kings' Night and Kings' Day.
Extra buses during Kings' Night:
- Teteringen and Oosterhout (lijn 870)
- Etten-Leur (lijn 871)
- Terheijden, Wagenberg and Made (lijn 872)
- Haagse Beemden (lijn 873)
- Rijsbergen and Zundert (lijn 874)
Extra buses will also run on Kings' Day.

Parking on King’s Day
Do you really have no other option than coming by car?
- Please note that the Chasséveld is not accessible due to the event 538 Koningsdag. Parking there is not possible from Thursday 16 April, 07.00 hours until Saturday 2 May, 17.00 hours.
- De Turfschipgarage is closed on Monday 27 April. Exiting is still possible until 03.00 hours. On Tuesday 27 April the garage will be accessible again from 7.00, but only via the Nassaustraat/Kloosterlaan.
- Car park Chassé Parking is, from Sunday 26 April 5.00 hours, only accessible to people with a personal access pass. From the city centre side, via Vlaszak/Oude Vest. Chassé Parking will be open again on Tuesday 28 April from 23.59 hours.
Kiss & Ride zones
Taxis and the Kiss & Ride zone can be found on part of the Claudius Prinsenlaan, between the Wilhelminasingel and the Beverweg, and at the Nieuwe Prinsenkade.
Glass and can ban during King's Day
To keep the city centre safer, it is forbidden to have glass and cans with you during King's Night and King's Day. The map next to this shows which part of the city centre is affected.
The ban starts on Sunday 26 April at 17:00 and lasts until Tuesday 28 April at 06:00.
Also useful to know
- During Kings' Night and Kings' Day, there will be a first aid post at the Castle Square.
- At various locations in the city centre, there are urinals and portable toilets. Their use is free of charge.
