From club to camera: how Lach je Lens from Breda makes everyone smile
Back when he was still a student in Marketing & Communication at Avans, Jasper sold his beloved gig project "With my savings, I made this happen. I sold my hobby BMW to make this a reality.” He built his first own booth from it. Not just for fun, but with a business case behind it: one concept that works for both regular customers and companies. The first photo booth quickly appeared at events like STRND in Breda and, yes, at a surprise party for Henny Huisman (it really was there).
Lach je Lens builds their booths themselves
“We build our own booths. This way, we maintain and develop high-quality customer relationships,” Jasper explains. ‘’And it is precisely that in-house production that allows large companies like Bol.com, Heineken, and CM.com to use the booths for serious purposes: professional LinkedIn shoots on location, where employees can take and choose their best photos themselves. This means a customer doesn’t have to deal with a photographer or the stress of being photographed with 5000 people. They can sit in the booth, take their photo, select it, and upload it themselves.”
At the same time, the fun factor remains essential. From weddings and festivals to corporate parties and club nights. Think of NAC, Ploegendienst, Avans, BUAS. And those are just a few of the companies from Breda. Because Lach je Lens operates nationwide.
Breda as a creative breeding ground
Breda is more than just a place to live for Jasper. It is home. “The location between the Netherlands and Flanders is the perfect base.” Additionally, Lach je Lens gains a lot of strength from the creative courses in the city. “There are many students of graphic design, communication, and event studies who come to us, and I am happy to welcome them. If you want to do everything yourself, you make it more difficult for yourself.”
Breda is the ideal place for me.

Photobooths with AI
When the world became acquainted with AI and tools like ChatGPT, Jasper immediately saw opportunities. “Our end product is always an image. But what if that image becomes even more surprising?” While many companies were still stuck on replacing backgrounds with green screens, Lach je Lens took a big step further. They built booths that enable complete AI transformations. “Think of users who see themselves in a futuristic outfit, in a fantasy world, or even as a comic character, generated in real-time with clever technology.”
The result? Photos that not only capture a moment but genuinely surprise, astonish, and make people laugh. It’s the perfect blend of creativity and technology. "We can't stand still... we are constantly working to improve our systems."
What does the future hold? Internationally, with a smile
"The dream? Grand. International. Imagine Lens in thirty countries, everywhere people are taking photos to capture moments," emphasizes Jasper. "Because especially in a time when everything is faster and more digital, that one simple need remains: to create something tangible from a beautiful moment."
