Bouvigne Castle - Groene Camino location

The Renaissance castle Bouvigne was built in 1612 on the orders of Prince Philips Willem of Orange, the eldest son of William the Father of the Fatherland.

Castle Bouvigne served as a hunting lodge for the hunt in the rich nature of the river valley and Mastbos. Since the 1950s, the Brabantse Delta water board has been based there with its offices. The castle features three notable historic gardens in English, German, and French landscape styles, as well as an orchard. The gardens are open to visitors on weekdays.

Every last Friday of the month, Gilde de Baronie offers a guided tour of the castle and gardens.

Groene Camino
This location is part of the Groene Camino, a nature and cultural-historical walk through Breda. The walk is 26 km long and runs from the Heilige Eik in Den Hout through the centre of Breda to the Sint Jacobskapel in Galder.
