Performance: De zon en de maan verwisseld
Information
What happens when your neighbour suddenly stands on his balcony with a pistol, right opposite your window? You report it, he gets arrested. But instead of acknowledgment, doubt follows. Was it really that serious? Or were you overreacting? And what if that doubt is not only external but starts to grow inside you as well?
The Sun and the Moon Switched is an eclectic and fragmentary fever dream in which theatre maker and performer Jantien Fick exposes her imaginative, humorous, dark, and relatable inner world.
About the play
When her next-door neighbour appears in 2024, ice-breaking on his balcony with a pistol in hand, an otherwise unknown man becomes the starting point for a whirlwind of memories, thoughts, and images. Through absurd anecdotes, loving memories, and disorienting scenes, Fick explores the deep desire to be seen and shows what happens when someone tries to grasp an experience that cannot be confined to a single story.
In her characteristic physical and poetic style, Fick moves between performance, text, and imagination. Together with actor Michael Muller and under the direction of Silke van Kamp, a theatrical universe emerges where reality and fantasy constantly shift places.
A personal, physical, and poetic performance where nothing is fixed and everything can tip over, as if the impossible is happening after all, and the sun and the moon switch places.
