It takes a child to raise a village / Fábrica | Chassé Theater

It takes a child to raise a village is a participation project by Corpo Máquina Society in which children, who have less frequent contact with arts, actively participate in a creative process that culminates in a performance.

Information

Together with a team of professional creators – from dancers and musicians to freerunners, skateboarders, acrobats, and street footballers – children embark on an exploratory journey. Playfully, they get acquainted with various forms of performing arts. They think along, make choices, and actively participate in creation.

Corpo Máquina works within the neighbourhoods. There, the first movements are born. From there, they grow towards the heart of the city, where the final result takes the stage in a city theatre. This way, they build bridges between different worlds of living, between neighbourhood and centre, between street and theatre. Each edition of this project is linked to a production – this time it’s Fábrica. about Fábrica Fábrica is raw and physical. A ritual of intensity and transformation. In Fábrica, choreographer Guilherme Miotto aims to reshape the stage into a workshop of rhythm and movement. With 3 dancers, 2 acrobats, and 2 live percussionists, we build a world where movement and sound are inseparable, where every action resonates and every rhythm is felt in the body. With percussion as the beating heart of Fábrica, as oxygen for connection, bodies become instruments and instruments become extensions of the performers.
