FUTURE CITIZENS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AFTER THE ESCAPE

About talent, the future, and finding your place

On stage, real stories from young people who are starting over in the Netherlands are shared. In Breda, students (ages 15–19) from CURIO’s International Switch Class take the stage of Podium BLOOS. They have only recently arrived in the Netherlands and are working hard on their education, their future, and their dreams.

During Future Citizens, the young people present their dreams in a short pitch to the audience. In this way, they are building a new network—something that is often lost when you have to flee, but essential to move forward.

Additionally, the impressive story of Abubakkar is told, played by Ousmane and Mola. A story about war, fleeing, resilience, and starting again. From Sierra Leone to years in the Dutch asylum system—and now dedicated to young people and the future of his country. A story that shows how one encounter can make a difference.

The evening is hosted by Mo Hersi and offers young people the chance to meet others with ambition: about education, internships, work, but also about friendship, connection, and feeling at home. This creates an evening full of recognition, inspiration, and new opportunities. Future Citizens shows that talent knows no borders and that sometimes a conversation is the beginning of a new future.

Note: Podium Bloos has temporarily moved.
