AI in the City 2026

From 23 to 25 September 2026, the third edition of AI in the City will take place in Breda. During this international event, you will discover how cities in the Netherlands and Europe are using artificial intelligence to address major urban challenges. From liveability and area development to mobility, sustainability and digital autonomy.

AI in the City brings together policymakers, public officials, researchers, businesses and AI professionals. The programme includes keynotes, workshops, pitches, demos, AI walks and various opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences.

The main conference day will take place on 24 September. Meet professionals from the Netherlands and abroad, discover inspiring examples from practice and get hands-on with the opportunities and challenges surrounding AI in the city. You will go home with new insights, valuable contacts and practical ideas for applying AI in your own city or field of work.

Talk of the Town
On the evening of 24 September, Talk of the Town: AI in the City will also take place. During this public evening programme, philosopher of technology Rens van de Vorst and the audience will explore the answer to the question: how do we ensure that AI genuinely adds value to the city? Participation is free, but advance registration is required.
