Shopping hours in the city centre

In the city centre of Breda, most shops are open on: 

  • Monday: from 12:30 - 18:00
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: from 09:30/10:00 - 18:00
  • Thursday: from 09:30/10:00 - 21:00 (not all shops have late opening on Thursdays)
  • Saturday: from 09:30/10:00 - 18:00
  • Sunday: from 12:00 - 17:00 

Late-night shopping and openings hours on Sundays

On Sundays, most shops in the centre of Breda are open from 12:00 to 17:00. At the Woonboulevard from 11:00 to 17:00. On the first Sunday of October, the shops inside the singels are usually closed due to the Bredase Singelloop.

The different parts of Breda each have their own late-night shopping evening. 

  • Centrum Breda: Thursday until 21:00. 
  • Bavel: Friday until 20:00
  • Prinsenbeek: Friday until 20:00
  • Teteringen: Friday until 20:00
  • Woonboulevard Breda XXL: Thursday until 21:00

  • Carnaval: most shops closed on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 February.

  • King's Day: Monday 27 April: 12:00-17:00
  • Liberation Day: Tuesday 5 May: 9.30/10.00-18.00

    Whit Sunday, Sunday 24 June May: shops closed
    Whit Monday, Monday 25 June: 12:00-17:00
  • Christmas:
    First Christmas Day, Friday 25 December: shops closed
    Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December: 12:00-17:00
  • New Year's Eve: Thursday 31 December: shops open until 17:00

Flanders observes statutory holidays on which shops in Flanders are closed but open in Breda. In 2026, these dates are as follows:
