Carnival parades

Almost every city or village where carnival is celebrated has a parade. Usually the highlight of the annual carnival.
In the municipality of Breda, there are several: 

Sunday 2 March:

  • Parade 't Aogje (Princenhage)
  • Parade Baviaonenland (Bavel)
  • Parade Boemeldonck (Prinsenbeek)
  • Parade Bosuilendorp (Ulvenhout)

Monday 3 March:

  • Grand Parade Kielegat (Breda)
  • Lampkes Parade Totdenringen (Teteringen)

Tuesday 4 March:

  • Brakkensliert Kielegat (children's parade)

Borrowing carnival clothing

Together with Parels and several primary schools, the Kielegat foundation ensures that carnival clothing is available for every child. Recently, everyone could hand in carnival clothing at various locations in Breda. From 11 February, you can go to Parels aan de Houtmarkt and Boerderij Wolfslaar to borrow carnival clothing. Many schools have also set up a special place where students can borrow items for this purpose. This way, everyone can join in the fun during carnival. 

Carnival from your comfy chair

Prefer not to go out or just want to celebrate Carnival at home? BredaNu (Sanseveria TV) and Baronie TV will bring the carnival atmosphere to your living room from Friday 28th February to Tuesday 4th March. Performances from artists, live reports of the most important carnival events, and much more. All you need to do is hang up the streamers yourself!
