Start green

Our day begins in Valkenberg, a green oasis in the city centre of Breda. While Cas runs straight to the playground, I enjoy the sunshine and the lively atmosphere of the park. Did you know that the park also has an important history?

First a little coffee

In the heart of Valkenberg you will find the T-House; a very cozy spot for coffee, breakfast, and lunch. When Cas has finished playing, we order a breakfast together and a cup of coffee for me. As soon as the sun shines, the terrace fills up here in no time.

Stories of the Grote Kerk Breda

Together we walk towards the Grote Kerk. The impressive tower rises high above the city and is the tallest building in Breda. I enjoy telling Cas about the history of the Grote Kerk and the different generations of city carillonneurs.

Having lunch together

Time for lunch at JanenAlleman. This cozy spot is known for its relaxed atmosphere and delicious dishes. But what makes this place most unique is the enthusiastic service. Here, people with a distance to the labor market work, an absolute tip for your visit to Breda.

Time for relaxation

After all the exploring, it's time for some relaxation. We love to visit the Children's Book Garden where Cas can choose a book himself. Just some nice unwinding!

Adventure in the Green

We enjoy being outdoors the most. That's why we occasionally leave the city to go to the Mastbos, one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands. Here, Cas can run, climb, and build dens (and I secretly do too ;)

The perfect ending

Our day ends at Dennenlucht, right in the greenery of the Mastbos. With a delicious pancake on the table, we reflect on a day full of discoveries.
