Vogel Redoute - Groene Camino location

A redoubt is a military fortification from the Eighty Years' War.

Redoutes were constructed here on behalf of Spinola during the siege of Breda in 1624. They overlook the Vuchtpolder, which is now an important breeding and foraging area for wading birds. It is mainly the creation of the so-called shallow water and marsh areas that make the polder such an attractive habitat for birds. The water level is carefully regulated with wind/water mills.

Groene Camino
This location is part of the Groene Camino, a nature and cultural-historical walk through Breda. The walk is 26 km long and runs from the Heilige Eik in Den Hout through the centre of Breda to the Sint Jacobskapel in Galder.
