St. Jacob's Chapel Galder - Groene Camino location
The St. Jacob's Chapel in Galder is the endpoint of the Green Camino. It is an ancient resting place for pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela. The chapel is adorned with many scallop shells as souvenirs of the pilgrimage.
James was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. For those walking the Green Camino, it is a wonderful idea to know that you are walking in medieval footsteps. Why do people go on pilgrimage in the first place? For movement, reflection, and above all, for experiencing nature.
You can also walk the Green Camino from south to north. In that case, the St. Jacob's Chapel is the starting point.
Groene Camino
This location is part of the Groene Camino, a nature and cultural-historical walk through Breda. The walk is 26 km long and runs from the Heilige Eik in Den Hout through the centre of Breda to the Sint Jacobskapel in Galder.
