Salesdreef | Munnikenhof Line - Groene Camino location
The Salesdreef formed the northwestern border of the low-lying Vuchtpolder. Slightly to the north was the 'Zegge', of which the northern part is now known as the 'Terheijden Inner Polder'. During times of war threat, these polders were flooded. The narrow strip of higher ground between these two polders was of strategic importance during the sieges of Breda in 1624 and 1637. Around 1700, this line was named after the Munnikenhof and became part of the Zuiderwaterlinie.
