Nieuwe Veste - Traces of our Dutch slavery past
Eighty volunteers worked in 2025 at Nieuwe Veste on part of the 35-meter-wide tapestry Sporen van slavernijverleden Noord-Brabant.
Nieuwe Veste is the place in Breda for meeting and debate, and from 18 April to 28 June, it will showcase the process of creating the wall hanging.
Here, techniques such as quilting, embroidery, printing, and tufting were used.
The joy of making together was combined with sharing knowledge and stories about the past and present.
