Mountain Sedimentation Basins - Groene Camino Location
A mountain stormwater detention basin is a large underground concrete reservoir in the sewer system.
A sediment basin is a large underground concrete storage tank in the sewer system. During heavy rainfall, excess waste and rainwater are temporarily stored there to prevent immediate pollution of the river water. Inside the tank, dirt particles settle. When the tank is full, the cleaner water is pumped to the sewage treatment plant to be turned into drinking water.
For the sedimentation basin in the Mark at Boeimeer, city poet Yvonne Né wrote a poem. ‘You see sequences of water coming……….’
