BredaPhoto display at Central Station - Traces of Our Slave Trade Past
'Talent in the showcase' in the hall on the Belcrum side of the Central Station features works by Lindsey Soetodrono from 18 April to 10 May, focusing on the project Tracks of our Dutch slavery history.
Lindsey Soetodrono explores her Javanese-Surinamese family history and the effects of intergenerational trauma with PutuneJaji: Odjo Lali Aku (Grandchildren of fellow sufferers: Don't forget me). In this work, she confronts the viewer with the history of Javanese-Surinamese indentured labor.
