Workshop: 'creating mini murals' Stedelijk Museum Breda

At the Stedelijk Museum, there are 12 murals on display in the exhibition 'Street Art Museum', primarily focusing on stories from history. The 13th mural is being created next door by street artist Steve 'ESPO' Powers. His work is known for involving local communities and incorporating their stories into his art. From 14 July to 17 August, you can attend a small workshop here to create a mini mural inspired by ESPO's approach.

Information

About the artist:
Steve 'Espo' Powers, born in 1968 in Philadelphia, began his career as a graffiti artist and has evolved into a renowned contemporary artist and muralist. His unique approach combines text and imagery, often inspired by conversations with local communities, to create artworks that resonate with the environment and its residents.

ESPO will be present during the first week (4 July to 14 July) to realize the mural, inspired by conversations with current entrepreneurs and residents of the Boschstraat. This adds a contemporary perspective to the exhibition and strengthens the connection between the museum and the street.

Live creation:

Visitors and passersby will have the opportunity to see live how ESPO Next transforms into the 13th mural, making Next with its shop window character an extension of the Boschstraat. This provides visitors the chance to engage with the artist and ask him about the process and the stories behind it.

From 14 July to 17 August, visitors will have the chance to create their own mini mural, inspired by ESPO's working method.
