When actress Maartje announces that she is dying but "absolutely does not want to talk about it," the chaos is complete. As she decides to carry on until her last breath, their theatre company and, most importantly, the decades-long friendship falter. Under the direction of Pieter Kramer, a whirlwind montage of hilarious rehearsals and heartrending confrontations unfolds, while no one talks about what is truly going on.
