The National Science Weekend offers young and old an accessible introduction to the fascinating world of science and technology. This nationwide event takes place every year in the first weekend of October. In 2025, it will be on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October.

During the Science Weekend, organisations open their doors specially for the public. Visitors get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look and can visit places that are normally closed. Think of:

• Meetings with real scientists
• Restorers at work in museums
• Hands-on experiments in laboratories

For everyone

The Science Weekend is suitable for (almost) all ages. The focus is on families with children aged between 8 and 14 years, but everyone is welcome to discover what science and technology have to offer.
