Wakker: Nu voor altijd

This year, three editions of Wakker will take place. Each edition has its own theme. In this first edition, you'll pause to consider the moment of now. We are always rushing forward, while the ‘now’ is closer than you think. 

Why Wakker 
The British philosopher Alain de Botton suggests that humans need inspiration to base their choices on. Preferably in the form of rituals of connection and reflection. For centuries, church visits on Sunday mornings served this purpose—a recurring moment to see and speak to one another. Times change, but needs do not. 

With Wakker, Zout Speelt and the Grote Kerk Breda offer a renewed interpretation of Sunday mornings. 

About Zout Speelt 
Zout Speelt produces theatre on social topics with performers who are part of the community. Their performances tell personal stories shared by people who have experienced them themselves. 

About the Grote Kerk Breda 
The Grote Kerk Breda connects its stories to the present and future, placing them in a broader perspective through an innovative and diverse programme.
