Waalse Kerk x MEZZ: 35 years of Blue Grass Boogiemen

Blue Grass Boogiemen celebrate their 35th anniversary. For three and a half decades, they have been hammering, chiselling, and sawing away on their musical journey. A journey that started as street musicians in the city centre of Utrecht and has taken them far beyond national borders. Along the way, they have won countless awards and collaborated with greats from country, bluegrass, and related genres.

From Lowlands in Biddinghuizen to the legendary Continental Club in Austin, Texas: the ‘live music capital of the world’. From Into The Great Wide Open on Vlieland to the iconic Station Inn in Nashville. From the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam to the Rodeo Bar in New York. And from the Visaginas International Music Festival in Lithuania to the International Bluegrass Festival in Guthrie, Oklahoma. They have performed at them all.

For 35 years, the Blue Grass Boogiemen have belonged to the very top of Dutch roots music. Of course, this must be celebrated – will you join in?
