Vredeswandeling

Worldwide Centre Breda organizes a Vredeswandeling through Breda on Saturday, 27 September, during the national Peace Week. The theme is: 'Step by step towards Peace... Doing nothing is not an option.'

Information

The walk starts at the Maczek Memorial on Ettensebaan and continues via 'de Ruimte', the Annahuis, and the Grote Kerk to the Lutheran Church on Veemarktstraat.
You can join the route at any point. 

Route and program:

  • 11:00-11:20 am: Gathering at Maczek Memorial, Ettensebaan 17a. 
    Welcome by minister Ton van Prooijen and alderman Arjen van Drunen.
  • 11:45 am-12:30 pm: Stop at 'De Ruimte', Heuvelstraat 52bis. 
    Presentation by the Apostolic Society and the Humanist Union with the theme: 'Doing nothing is not an option: where is your red line?'
    Coffee and tea.
  • 1:10 pm-1:55 pm: Stop at the Annahuis, Haagweg 3. 
    Dorothé IJsseldijk talks about the Annahuis
    Lunch: soup and sandwiches
  • 2:55 pm-3:05 pm: Stop at St. Joostkapel, Ginnekenstraat 21. 
    Reception at the parish centre and the opportunity to light a candle. 
  • 3:15 pm-3:45 pm: Grote Kerk Breda, Kerkplein 2.
    Oriental jazz and choreographic dance (Syria)
  • 3:50 pm-4:30 pm: Lutheran Church, entrance at Stadserf.
    Choir: Tegen de wind mee singing international peace songs.
    Possibly a program by young people/students – bilateral
    Coffee and tea.
