Urban Birding Breda

During this relaxed Urban Birding excursion, you’ll discover the birds of Valkenberg city park and learn to see Breda from a different perspective. During the walk, you may encounter species such as the Ring-necked Parakeet, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Mallard, Eurasian Coot and Greater Canada Goose. Various songbirds can also be heard and seen, including the Great Tit, Blue Tit, Eurasian Wren, Common Chiffchaff, Treecreeper and Chaffinch.

With a bit of luck, you might even spot the Peregrine Falcon that breeds on the Grote Kerk! Along the way, you’ll learn to identify birds by their song, appearance and behaviour. Because did you know that a Eurasian Jackdaw and a Carrion Crow differ from each other more than you might think?
