Theatre performance 'The Letter to the King' | Chassé Theater

Strong Stories brings the world-famous book by Tonke Dragt to the theatre in an inventive production full of music, singing, dance, magic, humour, knights and squires. An adventurous afternoon or evening for children AND their (grand)parents at the Chassé Theatre in Breda.

A young hero. A secret mission. An incredible adventure.
Tiuri is about to be knighted. He only has one more night to spend in complete silence and seclusion. Just then, a cry for help sounds. When Tiuri responds, he loses his chance to become a knight, but it’s a matter of life and death. He opens the door and is given a mission that will change his life forever: delivering a secret letter to the king on the other side of the mountains, a message that determines the fate of the entire kingdom. For this mission, Tiuri must leave everything behind: his home, his dreams, and perhaps even his safety.

The quest
Before and after the performance, children can participate in a fun quest in the foyer, where they can earn their own knight name. The quest consists of five tasks where you need to do something, think, or work together. Children carry out the tasks partly alone and partly with other young theatre-goers. In a playful way, they discover, together with their (grand)parents, what certain concepts mean to them and how they stand in life.
