About the performance In Every Brilliant Thing, a woman looks back on her life. She recounts how, as a seven-year-old child, she began writing a list of all the things that make life worthwhile. Everything that is beautiful, sweet, and admirable. Big, small, and everything in between. In the hope that her depressed mother can see this too. Ice, secretly peeing in the sea, and that there are songs that express exactly what you feel. The girl grows up, and the list grows with her as a source of comfort, even during life's bitter moments. Every Brilliant Thing presents a loving ode to life. The performance is directed by Paul Terwijn and performed by Eveline Rentmeester, Mirjam Sengers, and Stephanie van der Harst. The audience is a co-interpreter of the story Every Brilliant Thing is not just any performance; the audience is, in fact, a co-interpreter of the story. The contributions of the co-interpreters from the audience make the performance unique every evening. “Don’t be afraid that you will be pulled from your seat to participate in the performance. Only a select few people from the audience are invited to take part in the story; the actors will guide you through this. On June 5, 6, 12, and 13, 2026, Teater ‘77 will perform the play Every Brilliant Thing at Theaterzaal de Stilte on Markendaalseweg in Breda. A production that has been performed by various companies both domestically and internationally and has consistently received high praise from audiences.
