The Unseen + Q&A Breda director Milou Rientjens
Information
The Unseen offers an intense insight into the lives of African migrants in southern Italy and exposes the structures they encounter: from exploitation in the agricultural sector to bureaucratic uncertainty and social exclusion.
The film demonstrates how personal stories are closely intertwined with the systems shaping their daily lives. Milou Rientjens from Breda combines her background in International Development Studies with a passion for vulnerable communities.
She researched the exploitation of African migrant workers in Italy, which led to her debut documentary The Unseen. Besides her role as a team leader at Refugee Work, she is co-founder of the Nuru Foundation Tanzania.
