The Exploited at MEZZ
Information
The Scottish icons remain true to the energy and dangerous urgency with which punk first began. After 40 years, the Exploited still deliver an unwavering wall of energy that pounds through your body as if it's 1981 again, but with the problems of 2026.
Founded by frontman and legend Wattie Buchan, the band shot straight out of the streets of Edinburgh into the world in the early 1980s. The debut 'Punk's Not Dead' became an independent phenomenon and grew into a battle cry for an entire generation.
With successors 'Troops of Tomorrow' and 'Fuck The System', The Exploited proved that punk is not just a genre, but a way of living. Hard, loud, furious, and no-nonsense. The Exploited drew inspiration from bands like The Sex Pistols and created a more aggressive sound that was later picked up by thrash, hardcore, and metal bands such as Slayer, Metallica, and Slipknot. They were banned, arrested, booed off stage, and celebrated, but The Exploited has never deviated even an inch from their anti-authoritarian, anti-war, and socially hard message.
