The Biesbosch: Nature in Motion

Every Sunday in October, Filmhuis Botanique Breda presents an impressive nature film as part of the theme ‘Natuurlijk’, within the Breda Month of History. On Sunday 23 Novembre, the documentary De Biesbosch: Natuur in beweging will be featured.

This film takes you through the fascinating transformation of the Biesbosch: from an industrial area to a unique freshwater tidal area and a national park since 1994. The documentary shows how dynamic and special this Dutch natural area is, and how the landscape has changed over the centuries.

After the screening, there will be an in-depth discussion with director Bas Kakes and former forest ranger Jacques van der Neut, who also narrates the film. With his decades of experience and in-depth knowledge of the Biesbosch, Van der Neut knows exactly what makes this place so valuable.
