The 13th mural painting of Stedelijk Museum Breda

Street artist Steve 'ESPO' Powers and artist Mimi Gross (85 years old) are creating the 13th mural live at the exhibition STRAAT KUNST MUSEUM in the Stedelijk Museum Breda. This takes place in the free-access project space Next.

Information

The STRAAT KUNST MUSEUM exhibition features twelve murals that tell remarkable historical stories from the Boschstraat. ESPO’s new mural pays tribute to the street of today, inspired by conversations with residents and entrepreneurs.

Live creation:

Visitors and passersby have the opportunity to see live how ESPO Next transforms into the 13th mural, making Next with its shop-window character an extension of the Boschstraat. This provides visitors with the chance to engage in conversation with the artist and ask him about the process and the stories behind it.

ESPO x Mimi Gross

Steve ESPO Powers, born in 1968 in Philadelphia, started his career as a graffiti artist. He has grown into a renowned contemporary artist, with galleries in New York, Tokyo, and now also on the Boschstraat. His unique style combines text and imagery, often fueled by conversations with local communities. This way, he creates art that truly resonates.

Mimi Gross is a versatile artist who creates paintings, dance scenes, and installations. She has exhibited worldwide, including in New York, Tokyo, and Paris. Her work is part of major museum collections like the Metropolitan Museum of Art. But her work can also be seen in public spaces.

From 17 July to 14 August, every Thursday morning, visitors will have the chance to create their own mini mural, inspired by ESPO’s working method. Find out more about these mini mural workshops.
