Talk of the Town - The Offline Club Edition

On Sunday, 30 November 2025, The Offline Club together with the Municipality of Breda (Bredata), Grote Kerk Breda, and TURF will host a special event in the Grote Kerk of Breda. For one morning, this historic venue will be transformed into a ‘Digital Detox Dome’: a place without phones, without agendas, with space for rest, attention, and genuine encounters.

The idea is simple: taking a break from screens and the daily hustle. You can leave your phone at home or store it in the phone hotel. The morning starts in silence, with time for relaxation and creative activities such as drawing, reading, writing, or playing games. Afterwards, there will be opportunities to talk with others and meet new people.

During the event, the exhibition René! I’m Still Standing – About love and loss can also be visited in the church. Additionally, Sophie Verwaaijen will present her graduation project from Sint Joost 2025, which explores the influence of social media on our daily lives.

There are a maximum of 300 free tickets available. Registration can be done via The Offline Club Grote Kerk Breda.

This event is part of Talk of the Town, a series of conversations that the Municipality of Breda has been organising since 2022 about the impact of digitalisation on society. This edition is special because multiple partners are involved, and it is the last meeting of 2025.
