Sunset Cinema: Good Bye, Lenin @BUas Campus (EN SUBS)

The successful open-air cinema in Breda is back. This summer, Sunset Cinema is once again transforming ten unique locations into open-air cinemas. On Tuesday 2 September, Sunset Cinema goes international with the film Good Bye, Lenin with English subtitles. Take a seat on the inspiring, green campus of BUas in Brabantpark.

East Berlin, October 1989. The GDR has collapsed, but Alex’s mother was unaware after being in a coma for eight months. When she wakes up, the doctors warn that any shock could be fatal. To protect her, Alex decides to recreate the old GDR in their apartment. What starts as an innocent lie quickly spirals out of control, especially as his mother continues to recover.

Good Bye, Lenin is a heartwarming, funny, and touching story about a son who does everything he can to protect his mother from the truth—and to make her believe that Lenin is still in power.
