On the weekend of 20 and 21 September, you can enjoy the Breda Comic Strip Festival one last time at the Chassé Theatre. This is the final edition of the largest comic strip festival in the Benelux.It promises to be a special edition with more than 100 comic artists from home and abroad. Special guests include Colin Wilson (illustrator of Blueberry, among others) from Australia, Liam Sharp (illustrator of Storm) from England, and Philippe Fenech (illustrator of Idefix, the successful spin-off of Asterix) from France.Kids Area The entire theatre will be transformed into a true comic paradise with comics, games and films. The entire upper floor will be converted into a kids' area with arcade games, a face painting stand, a craft corner and a real cinema (which is of course also accessible to adults). The blockbusters Superkat Maurice and HitPig! will be shown here every day.Willy Vandersteen Prize On Sunday, Mayor Depla will present the prestigious Willy Vandersteen Prize for the best Dutch-language album of the past year. The winner, Aimée de Jongh, will receive 5,000 euros and a commissioned drawing from the previous winner.&nbsp;NK Comic Drawing The winners of the NK Comic Drawing for Youth 2025 will be announced on Sunday at the end of the day. There will be winners in three categories: 9 to 11 years old, 12 to 14 years old and 15 to 17 years old. The participants come from all over the Netherlands and have a chance to win a trophy and a comic book package worth €250.All activities, including the films, arcade games and face painting by the professional face painting team, are free and open to everyone with an admission ticket.
