Stage for Stories: Hear me, see me
What you see does not always tell the whole story. Just as a calm sea can hide a strong current, a young person's life can look fine while a lot is going on. In Breda, we are proud of organisations that actively care for young people, such as De Cultuurkantine, BredaMantelzorg and PakhuisB. About 1 in 4 young people care for a family member. The Kunstkameraden project offers young carers a space to break free from caring and express their creativity.
An exhibition in the Explore Breda Store shows works of art made by young informal carers through BredaMantelzorg. The project is about more than just making art - it is also about connecting people and creating stories that go beyond the artwork. You will also discover the stories of young carers here.
There is also a stage for the KinderTrendrede, an annual kind of throne speech and vision of the future by primary school children of the city for local politicians. The exhibition features children's visions of the future from the six editions of the KinderTrendrede.
