Slum Village in MEZZ

Slum Village is a leading hip hop group from Detroit, formed in the early 1990s by T3, Baatin, and the iconic producer J Dilla (also known as Jay Dee). With their unique sound and deeply rooted musical vision, they quickly grew into key figures within the underground hip hop scene.

After Dilla's passing, Young RJ took over, and together with T3, he revived the group, staying true to the original sound of Slum Village.

The group scored hits with tracks such as ‘Selfish’ (featuring Kanye West & John Legend) and ‘Tainted’, and released influential albums like ‘Trinity’, ‘Detroit Deli’, ‘Villa Manifesto’, and ‘YES’. With the recent album ‘F.U.N.’ and collaborations with artists such as Cordae, Larry June, Elijah Fox, and Eric Roberson, Slum Village again proves that they continue to lead the genre.

More than thirty years after their formation, the group remains a mainstay in the hip hop world.
