For 20 years, Rootsriders have traveled the world, since 2017 together with Sudanese singer Mo Ali, following in the footsteps of their musical hero Bob Marley: still the undisputed King of Reggae.
To celebrate this anniversary, they are asking all Bob Marley fans this year which songs they would like to hear. As part of their support act, they will also perform songs from their album 'Beautiful Day Beautiful Life' that was recently released.
Rootsriders was founded in 2006 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Bob Marley's death with a sold-out concert at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Current lead singer of The Wailers Mitchell Brunings, Shirma Rouse, and Giovanca are well-known former members.
In 2021, the band reached the final of the first edition of the SBS6 program: The Tribute, Battle of the Bands, and performed alongside the three other finalists in a sold-out Ziggo Dome. The band frequently performs abroad, both for their own concerts and festival appearances.
