Remembrance of the Dead Breda
On 4th May, the annual Remembrance Day takes place in Park Valkenberg in Breda.

- 19:00 - 19:30: City Bell Ringer Paul Maassen plays from the tower of the Grote Kerk

- Opening by Carel Hubert, chairman of the Stichting 4 May Commemoration Breda.
- Speech by the mayor of Breda, Paul Depla.
- Recitation by Annabelle Schroevers, student at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Lyceum, of her self-written poem ‘Two Minutes for Freedom’
- Commencement of the wreath laying by guests, boards, institutions, and groups. - 19:50 - 19:58: Ringing of the Grote Kerk bell by the Clocks Guild Breda.
- 19:59: Taptoe signal
- 20:00: Two minutes' silence

- Performance of national anthems of the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, and Poland by Harmonie Concordia Ginneken, conducted by Wim Sas.
- Continuation of the wreath laying and opportunity for personal flower laying. The ceremony in Valkenberg Park concludes with laying a wreath by the Stichting 4 May Commemoration Breda. - 20:45: Concert at the Grote Kerk conducted by conductor Geert van den Dungen. Concert Choir Breda performs the requiem ‘Eternal Light’ by the British composer Howard Goodall. The choir is accompanied by the Dordrecht Chamber Orchestra and Ben Martin Weijand on piano.
Soloists: soprano Nikki Treurniet, tenor Falco van Loon, and bass/baritone Robert-Jan Agricola. - 21:30: End of concert
