Constant Permeke is one of the most famous Belgian painters of the 20th century. Central to his work are the human being and their relationship with nature. In the lecture on April 15, his early artistic developments, sources of inspiration, and connections with his painter friends will be discussed. 

Marc Permeke takes you through the life of his grandfather and reflects on Constant Permeke's personal journey, sources of inspiration, and his connection with the people around him. This two-part presentation also provides a glimpse into the person behind the famous artist. Coming from an artist family, Marc is happy to share the fascinating story of his grandfather's life and work.
