Oproer in MEZZ

Dark, danceable, ecstatic and recognizable. Oproer does not leave any soul untouched with its infectious mix of poppy alt rock and funky postpunk. Two years after their debut album 'We’re All Late Tonight', they delve deeper with their successor 'The Catch' and the five-piece band once again releases deadly efficient melodies and catchy riffs on heads and hips.

When Oproer was named ‘De Belofte’ (The Promise) by Willy Radio in 2023 in January, it boosted their growing fame, but it is mainly their overwhelming live reputation that has put them on the map and earned them a loyal fanbase.

Two years later, Oproer has a successor ready with ‘The Catch’, an album where the band digs deeper and frontman/songwriter Dries van der Schueren drew inspiration from a turbulent period. Despite the often weighty themes, the album certainly does not feel heavy, thanks to the ingenious and catchy melodies of Jérôme Pringiers (keyboards).

‘The Catch’ will be released this autumn, followed by an international tour.
