Information

During the summer months, the Chassé Theater hosts a free programme with surprising musical performances on several Saturday evenings with 'Open Vensters'. Enjoy semi-acoustic (world) music on the Vensters' terrace.

Miriam Simone is one of Europe's most promising female reggae artists, often referred to as the Dutch queen of reggae. Simone began singing at the age of four. She was influenced by gospel, soul, and reggae. By the age of thirteen, she was singing in various bands and church choirs in Amsterdam. As a young adult, she joined the reggae/hip-hop group Postmen as a backing vocalist, honing her singing skills. Later, she joined the Dutch group Dredda Youthz, where she rocked several tracks that became big hits in Suriname. One of these was Uma no Krey. This was just the beginning of Simone's career.

Her voice and performance have only grown over the years, and internationally her fame may already be greater than in our own country. She performs at many major festivals around the world.
