Open Monumentendagen Breda

Discover Breda during the Open Monumentendagen, the largest cultural event with free admission, historical sites, and creative activities focused on heritage and architecture.

Information

De Open Monumentendagen are the largest cultural event in the Netherlands, a free and accessible public event held annually in the second weekend of September.

In Breda, this special weekend has been organised for many years by a local committee, which develops its own programme each year.

Open Monumentendagen Breda offers visitors the unique chance to look inside many historic locations that are not usually accessible, and to participate in fun activities there.

Every year, de Open Monumentendagen are themed around a new national theme, giving local participants and Committee Breda the opportunity each year to bring the history of the municipality of Breda to life in a creative and engaging way.

This year, the theme is Building(ing) to stay, focusing on the architecture of the heritage.

Alongside this national theme, you will find various fun activities, including local themes such as The Siege of Breda by Spinola and Urban development and reconstruction.

Further information about the programme will follow later.
